This Privacy Policy explains how Petizzy collects, uses, stores, shares, protects, and deletes personal information when you use the Petizzy mobile application, website, APIs, and related services.

1. About Petizzy

Petizzy is a pet-owner social app that allows users to create accounts, create pet profiles, share pet moments, follow other users, subscribe to pets, send direct messages, discover pets by animal type and breed, receive notifications, and manage privacy preferences.

Pets on Petizzy can have their own profiles and may be linked to one or more owners or co-owners.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated from your activity in the app, and limited technical information needed to operate, protect, and improve Petizzy.

2.1 Account and Profile Information

When you create or manage an account, we may collect:

• Name or display name
• Email address
• Username
• Password hash
• Bio
• Avatar/profile image
• Optional phone number
• Optional state and country information
• Account role and status
• Login and session information
• Last login information
• Account verification information, such as email OTP verification status

We do not store your password in plain text.

2.2 Pet Profile Information

When you create or manage a pet profile, we may collect:

• Pet name
• Animal type
• Breed or category
• Gender
• Birth date or age-related information
• Pet bio or description
• Pet profile image
• Pet city and country, where provided
• Pet visibility setting
• Pet owner and co-owner information
• Pet subscriber and social activity counts

2.3 User-Generated Content

When you use Petizzy, we may collect and store content you create or upload, including:

• Posts
• Captions
• Images
• Comments
• Direct messages
• Reports submitted about users, pets, posts, or comments
• Bookmarks
• Likes
• Follows
• Pet subscriptions
• User tags
• Intentional post views, such as when you open a post detail or comments screen

2.4 Direct Messages

Petizzy supports one-to-one direct messaging between users. We collect and process message content, sender and recipient information, timestamps, conversation metadata, and related notification information so the messaging feature can work.

Direct messages are not public, but they may be processed for delivery, abuse prevention, reporting, moderation, security, and legal compliance where necessary.

2.5 Notifications and Device Information

If you enable notifications, we may collect:

• Push notification tokens
• Device platform
• Notification preferences
• Notification delivery records
• In-app notification records
• Read/unread notification state

You can manage notification preferences in the app settings where available. Transactional messages, such as OTPs and password reset emails, may still be sent even if you disable push notifications.

2.6 Technical and Security Information

We may collect limited technical information, including:

• IP address during registration or security-sensitive activity
• Country or state inferred from IP address, where enabled
• Device and platform information
• Log data
• Error and crash-related information
• Admin audit log information for moderation and security actions
• Session and authentication metadata

We use this information to operate the service, secure accounts, detect abuse, troubleshoot problems, and improve reliability.

2.7 Contact Form Information

If you contact us through a public contact form or support channel, we may collect:

• Email address
• Message content
• Any other information you choose to provide

3. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

Petizzy is not designed to collect:

• Government identification documents
• Payment card details
• Bank account information
• Biometric data
• Health records
• Precise real-time location
• Sensitive personal information unless you choose to include it in content you upload or send

Please do not upload or send sensitive information through Petizzy unless it is necessary and you understand that it may be processed as part of the service.

Petizzy does not currently provide payments, wallets, subscriptions, veterinary booking, grooming booking, marketplace transactions, or government ID verification in user flows.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

• Create and manage your Petizzy account
• Verify your email address
• Authenticate logins and maintain sessions
• Allow you to create, edit, and manage your profile
• Allow you to create and manage pet profiles
• Allow pet co-ownership and co-owner notifications
• Display posts, comments, likes, bookmarks, follows, and pet subscriptions
• Provide home feed, discovery, search, and profile pages
• Enable direct messaging between users
• Enforce blocking and privacy settings
• Send in-app, push, or email notifications
• Provide account recovery and password reset features
• Process reports and support moderation
• Protect users, prevent abuse, and secure the platform
• Respond to support requests
• Maintain audit logs for admin and security actions
• Improve app performance, reliability, and user experience
• Comply with applicable legal obligations

5. Legal Basis for Processing

Where applicable data protection laws require a legal basis, we rely on one or more of the following:

Contract or Service Delivery

We process your information where it is necessary to provide Petizzy features, such as account creation, login, pet profiles, posts, feed, discovery, direct messaging, and notifications.

Consent

We rely on consent where required, such as for optional push notifications, optional media access permissions, and any optional marketing communication where applicable.

You may withdraw consent where the app or applicable law allows.

Legitimate Interests

We may process information for legitimate interests such as security, fraud prevention, moderation, analytics, debugging, service improvement, and preventing misuse of Petizzy.

Legal Obligation

We may process or retain certain information where required by law, regulation, court order, law enforcement request, or legal process.

6. Public Content and Visibility

Some information you provide may be visible to other users inside Petizzy.

This may include:

• Display name
• Username
• Avatar
• Bio
• Public account profile
• Public pet profiles
• Pet images
• Pet bio and details
• Posts and captions
• Comments
• Like, follow, and subscription activity where shown in the app
• Public social counts

If your profile is set to private, your account may be hidden from public account pages and search results for users other than you, depending on how the privacy setting is implemented.

Pet profiles may also have public or private visibility settings where available.

You should not post content you do not want other users to see.

7. Privacy Controls

Petizzy may provide privacy and notification controls, including:

Profile Visibility

You may be able to set your profile visibility to:

• Public
• Private

Private profiles may be hidden from user search, global user search, and public account pages for other users, except where visibility is required for account ownership, moderation, legal compliance, or system integrity.

Direct Message Privacy

You may be able to control who can send you direct messages using options such as:

• Everyone
• Followers only
• Nobody

Direct message access may also be affected by blocking and account restrictions.

Blocking

You may block or unblock other users. Blocking may restrict direct messages, comments, tagging, and other interactions between you and the blocked user.

Notification Preferences

You may be able to turn push notifications on or off and manage notification types such as likes, comments, follows, pet subscriptions, direct messages, tags, and co-owner events.

In-app notification records may still be stored even if live push delivery is disabled.

8. App Permissions

Petizzy may request access to certain device permissions, including:

Camera or Photo Library

Used when you choose to upload a profile image, pet image, or post image.

Notifications

Used to send push notifications about relevant activity, such as messages, likes, comments, follows, pet subscriptions, tags, and co-owner updates.

You can manage device permissions through your device settings.

9. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share or process information with trusted service providers that help us operate Petizzy, including:

• Cloud hosting providers
• Database and infrastructure providers
• File storage providers
• Email delivery providers
• Push notification providers
• Error monitoring or analytics providers, where enabled
• Moderation, security, or support tools
• Legal, regulatory, or law enforcement authorities where required

These providers may process information only as needed to provide their services to Petizzy, subject to their own security and privacy obligations.

10. Third-Party Services

Depending on configuration, Petizzy may use third-party services such as:

• Cloudflare R2 for file and media storage
• Resend for email delivery
• Expo for push notifications
• IP geolocation services for optional country or state enrichment during registration
• Hosting, logging, infrastructure, analytics, or monitoring providers

If third-party services change, this Privacy Policy may be updated.

Petizzy does not currently use payment processors or identity verification providers in active user flows. If those features are added later, this Privacy Policy should be updated before launch or release of those features.

11. Data Storage and Retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide Petizzy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, maintain security, and enforce our terms.

Typical retention rules include:

• Account information is kept while your account is active.
• Profile and pet profile information is kept while your account or pet profile exists.
• Posts, images, comments, likes, bookmarks, follows, subscriptions, and messages may be kept while they are part of the service.
• Notification records may be kept to support the notification inbox and account activity history.
• Security logs, audit logs, and technical records may be kept for security, debugging, moderation, and legal reasons.
• Backup copies may remain for a limited period before being overwritten or deleted.

When you delete your account, we take steps described in the “Account Deletion” section below.

12. Account Deletion

Petizzy supports self-service account deletion through the app where available.

To delete your account, you may use the account deletion option inside the app settings, where implemented. You may also contact us at:

When your account is deleted, Petizzy may:

• Deactivate your account
• Revoke your sessions
• Remove push notification tokens
• Scrub or anonymize personal account identifiers such as email, username, name, bio, phone number, location, and avatar
• Remove or clean up pet ownership and social graph memberships
• Allow reusable identifiers, such as email or username, where technically supported

Some information may be retained in anonymized or limited form where necessary, including:

• Posts, comments, messages, and moderation records that are no longer linked to your personal identity
• Records needed for security, abuse prevention, audit logs, dispute handling, or legal compliance
• Content involving other users, such as message conversations or moderation reports, where deletion would affect the rights, safety, or records of others

Admin accounts may not be eligible for self-service deletion through the regular user deletion flow.

13. Data Export

Petizzy does not currently provide an automated in-app data export feature.

14. Your Rights

Depending on your country or region, you may have rights to:

• Request access to your personal information
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your personal information

• Request restriction of certain processing
• Request a copy of certain information
• Complain to a relevant data protection authority

15. Children’s Privacy

Petizzy is not intended for children under the age of 13, or any higher minimum age required by applicable law in your country.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable minimum age. If we learn that a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent, we may delete the account and related information.

16. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including authentication, access controls, password hashing, session controls, and secure infrastructure practices where available.

However, no app, website, database, or internet transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your login details safe and for using a strong password.

17. International Data Transfers

Petizzy may process and store information in countries outside your country of residence, depending on where our hosting, storage, email, push notification, infrastructure, and service providers operate.

Where required, we take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information receives appropriate protection when transferred internationally.

18. Automated Processing, Feed Ranking, and Discovery

Petizzy may use automated systems to sort, rank, or display content in features such as the home feed, discovery, search, notifications, and recommendations.

These systems may consider factors such as recent activity, post engagement, pet or user information, search terms, and whether content has been intentionally opened.

Petizzy does not currently make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about users solely through automated processing.

19. Moderation and Safety

Petizzy allows users to report pets, posts, comments, accounts, or other content.

We may review reports, content, account activity, messages, metadata, and technical records where necessary to:

• Enforce app rules
• Investigate abuse
• Prevent spam or harassment
• Protect users
• Maintain service integrity
• Comply with legal obligations

Admins may take moderation actions such as reviewing reports, restricting accounts, removing content, or maintaining taxonomy and platform safety records.

20. Marketing and Advertising

Petizzy does not currently sell personal information.

Petizzy does not currently operate a paid advertising marketplace or targeted advertising system inside the app.

If marketing emails or promotional messages are introduced, users will be provided with an appropriate way to opt out where required by law.

21. Third-Party Links

Petizzy may contain links to third-party websites, services, or content.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices, security, or content of third-party services. You should review their privacy policies before using them.

22. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

When we make material changes, we may notify users through the app, email, or another reasonable method. The updated policy will show a new “Last Updated” date.

Your continued use of Petizzy after changes become effective means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
